Mobilates Together

More ways to connect, chat, share space and feel less alone

Living with chronic illness, pain, fatigue, disability or neurodivergence can be incredibly isolating.

Sometimes the barriers are obvious, like pain, mobility or being unable to leave the house. Sometimes it is the sheer amount of energy it takes to get dressed, travel somewhere, manage sensory overload, keep up with conversation, or explain yourself to people who just do not quite get it.

Mobilates Together is our growing programme of accessible online peer support, social activities and community connection for people living with long-term health conditions and disabilities.

Thanks to National Lottery Awards for All England and National Lottery players, we have received funding to grow Mobilates Together over two years.

The project was created directly in response to what our community told us they needed. In our consultation, more than 80% of respondents wanted more opportunities to connect with people who understood their experiences, while 76% wanted regular peer support alongside movement and wellbeing activities.

This is about creating places where you can come exactly as you are and feel safe and supported.

From bed. From the sofa. In your comfies. Camera on or off. Chatty or quiet. Having a brilliant day or a truly rubbish one.

You still belong here.

What is included?

Mobilates Together brings together a growing mix of peer support, social activities, shared interests and practical support.

Natter Together

Mondays, 2pm to 3pm, after Bed Pilates

An hour to have some lunch, make a cuppa and spend time with people who understand.

There is no agenda and no pressure to talk. You can join in with the conversation, use the chat, listen while you rest, or pop in for as long as you have the energy.

Natter Together is hosted by Callie and supported by our peer supporters.

Books Together

Fourth Thursday of the month, 12pm to 1pm, after Bed Pilates

This is definitely not the sort of book club where someone gives you a 600-page novel and expects you to have finished it by next Thursday!

There is no set book and no homework.

Bring whatever you are reading or listening to, something you loved, something you abandoned halfway through, your ever-growing to-be-read pile, or nothing at all.

You are absolutely welcome to come just for the company and recommendations.

Get Together

Monthly evening social

An online evening in with the Mob.

Think bingo, quizzes, gentle games, conversation, silliness and plenty of Mobilates frivolity.

Join from your sofa or bed, wear your comfiest clothes and take part as much or as little as you fancy.

Dates and times will be shaped around what works best for our community.

Curious Together

Monthly

Our community knows a LOT of interesting stuff.

Curious Together gives members the chance to share something they enjoy, whether that is writing, photography, plants, crafts, poetry, music, a niche hobby or something none of us have even thought of yet.

If you would like to lead one, you will not be left to fend for yourself. Callie can help you shape the session, organise the Zoom side and co-host with you.

Togetherness

First and third Tuesday of each month

A regular, supportive space for connection and conversation with people who understand some of the realities of living with fluctuating health.

A smiling woman gives a thumbs up while holding a paper lantern she has made.

Craft Together

Second Tuesday of each month

Bring whatever you are making, mending, colouring, fiddling with or abandoning dramatically halfway through.

You do not need to be “good at craft”. This is about company as much as creativity.

Tasks Together

Saturday mornings

Sometimes life admin feels enormous when you are dealing with fatigue, brain fog, pain or overwhelm.

Tasks Together is our low-pressure body-doubling space. Bring the thing you keep putting off, whether that is paperwork, emails, budgeting, sorting a drawer or another small job, and do it alongside other people doing their own thing.

Body doubling was specifically requested by our community as a way to make everyday tasks feel more manageable.

Who is Mobilates Together for?

Mobilates Together is designed for people living with things like:

chronic illness, persistent pain, fatigue, disability, hypermobility, neurodivergence and other long-term health conditions.

You do not need to be particularly fit, sociable, confident or “well enough”.

In fact it is quite the opposite!

The whole reason these sessions exist is because traditional social and activity spaces can be difficult or inaccessible when your health fluctuates.

Come exactly as you are

Every Mobilates Together session is designed to be low-pressure and flexible.

You can:

✓ join from bed or the sofa

✓ keep your camera on or off

✓ talk, type in the chat or just listen

✓ eat or drink during the session

✓ move, stretch or change position

✓ take medication

✓ leave early

✓ arrive tired

✓ have brain fog

✓ have no idea what day it is

There is no requirement to perform wellness here.

Meet Callie

Callie Di Nello is our Mobilates Together Project Co-ordinator.

Callie works alongside Leanne, our volunteers, peer supporters and the wider Mobilates community to help shape and support the programme.

Her role includes facilitating sessions, supporting volunteers, organising activities, helping manage attendance and supermarket support, community communication and making sure the project keeps responding to what members actually want. The funded co-ordinator role includes both community delivery and practical project management.

And importantly, the programme is not intended to be completely fixed. We will keep looking at attendance, feedback and what people tell us they need, then change things where necessary.

£5 supermarket support with Huggg

We know that financial pressure can be another barrier to joining in.

National Lottery funding has therefore enabled us to provide £5 supermarket voucher support to eligible participants through Huggg.

Huggg sends the support digitally, so you do not need to collect anything from us in person. You can receive your voucher remotely and choose from participating supermarket options.

Our current plan is for eligible participants to be able to claim:

up to one £5 supermarket voucher per qualifying week, with a maximum of £15 per month.

Places are limited and eligibility applies, so please contact us if you would like to apply for voucher support.

Email: info@mobilates.com
Subject: Huggg support

The supermarket support exists to help reduce the cost-of-living barrier to participating in the project.

Voucher availability is subject to eligibility, available project funding and the current Mobilates Together voucher scheme terms.

Why are we doing this?

Because movement is only one part of wellbeing.

For many people in our community, the conversations before and after a class matter just as much as the class itself.

Our consultation with members showed that people wanted more connection, more peer support and more opportunities to stay in touch between organised activities.

Mobilates Together is about creating that space.

✓ Somewhere you do not have to explain why you are tired.

✓ Somewhere cancelling because your body has other ideas is understood.

✓ Somewhere you can make friends without having to travel.

✓ Somewhere you can have a laugh on a difficult day.

✓ Somewhere you can belong.

Want to join us?

Mobilates Together launches from November 2026 and activities will continue to grow over the two-year funded programme.

You need to be a Mobilates member to take part. If you are already part of Mobilates, keep an eye on our timetable, newsletters and community groups for dates and booking links.

If you are new to Mobilates, the best place to start is with a free consultation so we can find out a little about you and help you choose the most suitable way to join us.

Or email info@mobilates.com if you would like to ask us anything first.

The National Lottery Community Fund

Thank you, National Lottery players

Mobilates Together has been made possible by funding from National Lottery Awards for All England, thanks to National Lottery players.

Their support is helping us create more opportunities for people with long-term health conditions and disabilities to feel connected, supported and part of a community, without needing to leave home to do it.
